Years later, the necklace is pawned by Memsaabs father only to be redeemed by adult Sikandar.Ģ Memsaab: Memsaab (played by Rakhee, who is her usual weepy unwatchable self) is one of those uppity sorts who is Sikandars eternal love, which will go unrequited. Expensive Necklace: Little orphan Sikandar is accused of stealing the necklace when all he is doing is swearing undying love for little Memsaab. There is definitely more emotional atyaachaar in this movie than probably all of Amitabhs movies put together and it is of the good sort. The story is rather complicated so I wont detail the plot but give you a highlight reel. The title role of Sikandar is essayed by Amitabh when he was still Amitabh The Great and not Mr Bachchan, the sycophants delight. This is Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (King of Fate). Its got all the elements of the good Hindi Picture a complicated plot, a brooding hero, a bunch of evil villains, more than one love triangle, a prostitute with a heart of gold, a baddie who is not really a baddie, a whos who supporting cast, bombastic dialogues, time bombs, abductions, great music and a really over-the-top climax. This is vintage Hindi commercial cinema made by a master of melodrama and not the meandering quasi-intellectual gibberish that Bollywood directors these days pass of as new-age cinema.
